Christian Morality

The first six of twelve faith-sharing sessions are planned to begin generally starting the week of February 19, 2012. The second six sessions are planned to begin the first week of October corresponding to Part Three of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and Part Three of the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults. The major topics to be covered are below.
 

 
Presents the moral teachings of the Catholic faith, beginning with the Beatitudes
 
Explores the principles of freedom and responsibility, conscience, virtues, morality, and grace in the first six sessions
 
Focuses on the Ten Commandments and their implications for Christian living in the last six sessions

Season Three of Why Catholic? is scheduled to generally start the week of February19, 2012.

Sign-up Sunday for the 1st six sessions of season three is scheduled for February 11/12,  2012.

The 2nd group of 6 sessions of year three is generally planned to start the week of October 7, 2012.

Most Blessed Sacrament Church is participating in the WHY CATHOLIC?  program sponsored by the Diocese of Fort Worth.  All members of our parish are invited and encouraged to join a small Christian Community to understand and deepen what it means to be Catholic. This is a great opportunity to "review" and "renew" our Catholic Faith. It is meant for all parishioners, high school age and adults of all ages, new to the Catholic Church as well as those "cradle Catholic" members and everyone in between.

SEASON 1 - Why Catholic? group meetings for the first six of 12 sessions of year one started October 4, 2009. The Small Christian Communities gathered once a week and generally met  for six consecutive weeks. There were an additional six meetings scheduled generally between Ash Wednesday and  Easter, 2010.

      SEASON 2 - Meetings for the first six sessions began for year two  the week of October 3, 2010 followed by the second group of six sessions during Lent, 2011.
