Marriage Info

The celebration of marriage between two Catholic faithful takes place during Holy Mass because of the connection of all the sacraments with the Paschal mystery of Christ. (CCC 1621). Marriage preparation programs aim to help couples talk about issues that may not have come up while they were dating, such as faith, finances, raising kids, family backgrounds, conflict resolution, etc. Marriage preparation programs also supply couples with proven strategies for overcoming tough times. Couples planning marriage need to contact the parish at least 9 to 12 months before scheduling a wedding date. An orientation for Marriage Preparation is held every two months. Wedding assistants assist the wedding couple at the church during a one hour period before the wedding. Assistants usually help with 2-3 weddings a year.
