Liturgy Committee/Chairman The word “liturgy” originally meant a “public work” or a “service in the name of/on behalf the people.” In Christian tradition it means the participation of the People of God in the work of God. In the New Testament the word “liturgy” refers not only to the celebration of divine worship but also to the proclamation of the Gospel and to active charity. In a liturgical celebration the Church …shares in Christ’s priesthood (worship), which is both prophetic (proclamation) and kingly (service of charity). (CCC 1069 and 1070). The Liturgy Committee at Most Blessed Sacrament Church is a group of people dedicated to helping the parish community in the celebration of the Mass which involves a call to prayer and a joyful awareness of God's presence in our lives. To become more involved in our liturgical celebrations throughout the year as an Altar Server, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Usher, Choir member or help with our parish environment needs, contact our Director of Liturgy, Michele Grim, at 817-460-2751. The Chairman is responsible for working closely with the Liturgy Director for needs and upcoming events. The Chairman facilitates an orderly and productive monthly meeting, provides an agenda for all to follow, and provides follow-up communications , as needed, to implement any liturgical celebration.
