     Community Service Committee

The MBS Community Service Committee has been in existence for many years, working to help the needy of our community and our parish through donations of time, money and goods from our parishioners.

The committee sponsors three main projects on a regular basis:

      1. Pantry Sunday is the first Sunday of each month. Foods collected go to Arlington Charities, moneys collected are earmarked for special projects such as Arlington Charities, etc. and are distributed as designated. All funds are made available to the agencies that serve our parishioner's needs or people within our community who have special needs, such as medical, rent, food and utilities. Catholic Charities helps with pharmacy costs.

      2. School supply collection takes place the first two weekends of August. These items are distributed to five elementary schools in our area for needy children, plus other collections are taken up as needed.

     3. Annual Children's Christmas Party for needy children provides food, entertainment, gifts, and fun for children from five local elementary schools we support.

The Community Service Committee meets regularly at Most Blessed Sacrament. For more information on this ministry contact Ray Furtner, 817-860-0792 or email him at kimurfurtn@aol.com.
