The duties consist of making coffee and lemonade, making sure there are sufficient cups, glasses, napkins, sugar, stirrers and creamer available, cleaning the cups and glasses, and cleaning the tops of the tables and counters in the kitchen. Typically, at least two people should arrive around 8:15 to setup for the people who come after the 8:00 Mass. Depending on the season of the year, anywhere from two to four people are needed between 9:00 and 10:00. There isn’t much activity while the 10:00 Mass is taking place, so that’s a good time to go to Mass. The busiest time is after 10:00 Mass until 11:30 or 11:45 when the duty ends. If you notice that we’re short on some of the supplies, leave a note saying what we need in the donations can. The above are guidelines only. Each team has their own way of doing things, which maybe totally different than the way I’ve described them. That’s O.K. Please feel free to split things up any way you see fit.
If you’d like to get the coffee roster in an email as well as through regular mail, just send me your email address and I’ll make sure you get the newest copy of the roster as soon as it’s available. My email address is trbarnard@sbcglobal.net.
Our schedule is now posted on the MBS web site at www.mostblessedsacrament.org , Parish Organizations, Coffee Service Schedule. We also try to keep a copy of the schedule posted in the kitchen.
Thanks to all of you. As always, if you are unable to work the Sunday you’re assigned, please call one of the other names on the list and switch with them.
Tom
